Two Dollar pupils have been selected as members of the Scottish delegation to the European Parliament for the Euroscola convention.
Euroscola is an annual event that unites talented young linguists from across Europe. This is the first time that Dollar Academy has had two pupils selected for this prestigious event. Senior pupils Kirsten Oag and Runa Jarjour will spend a week at the European Parliament at Strasbourg.
To apply, the girls had to submit an essay outlining their perspective on a current affairs topic which interested them. They were then shortlisted and invited to a district interview with a panel of three senior members of the Local Rotary Club. Kirsten and Runa were described as “outstanding applicants” and were selected to represent Scotland at the event.
