Pupil Success in RSA Competition

Four pupils from Dollar Academy have been very successful in the recent Royal Scottish Academy’s 2018 Schools Art Award competition, and their artwork has been on show at the Royal Scottish Academy on Princes Street in Edinburgh.

Angus Montford (Form II) submitted a striking black-and-white self-portrait which received third prize at the awards ceremony on 21 March. Congratulations also go to Caitlin Fyfe (Form III) who produced ‘a beautifully atmospheric etching,’ said Mrs Kelly (Head of Art). Caitlin was named was the regional winner in the Intermediate Category. Yisi Lu (Form IV) and Emilie Graham (Form VI) also received commendations from the Royal Academy.

The exhibition of pupil work was open to the public at the RSA in Edinburgh from 24 March-8 April.
