Dollar Pipers support the ‘Railway Children’ charity

On the 4th of December, three pipers of Dollar’s Juvenile Band were invited to play at Edinburgh Waverley to help raise money for the 'Railway Children' charity which provides protection and opportunities for children across the UK, East Africa and India.

This year, Railway Children partnered with Scotrail to run the Santa Express. The train left Edinburgh Waverley station and travelled along the Strathspey rail line, through the Cairngorms, before returning to Edinburgh. Tickets sold out extremely quickly with all proceeds going to the charity.

Mr Stewart, Max (Form V) and Duncan (Form V) were lucky enough to be invited to perform at the departure of the first Santa Express. Given the lack of piping competitions over the past two seasons, those involved jumped at the chance of being able to get out and perform again, especially for such a great cause.

Over £33,000 was raised for the Railway Children, which will go an incredibly long way in supporting the great work they do.
