How it operates

Pre-owned items are accepted for sale by the Thrift Shop provided they are current, clean and in good condition. All blazers must be dry cleaned. We reserve the right to recycle items deemed unfit for sale.  The price allocated to an item is dependent on the condition.  The amount received for an item of value £10 or more is split between the seller (80%) and the Thrift Shop (20%).  Items of value under £10 will be donated to the Thrift Shop.

You can set up an account by emailing us at You will then be allocated an account number.  If an item on your account sells for £10 or more then 80% of this money will be transferred directly to your bank account. We may contact you for bank details if you have not already provided them.  We aim to transfer money on a timely basis normally within 2 months of the sale. During school holidays this may take longer as we need to wait for the next Thrift open day in case of returns.

Items are held for a maximum of three years.  After this time, unsold items are withdrawn and recycled with proceeds going to various charities.

Buyers can take items “on approval” (i.e. pay for them but have the right to return them at the next Thrift Shop opening day if they are unsuitable).

Payment can be made by credit/debit card or Apple Pay.

Note: Stock levels depend on donations and it is highly unlikely you will fulfill the full uniform requirement in one visit.
