Dollar Academy Playfair BuildingFounded in 1818, the school has over 1200 boys and girls aged 5 to 18.

The majority of boarding pupils at Dollar are British but this school has many international links and welcomes students from around the world. Dollar is an excellent choice for families from the Middle East, with direct flights and easy airport pick‑ups.

The academic standards at Dollar are high. In a typical year, 85 per cent of pupils achieve exam results of A‑B. Almost every student at Dollar will go on to their choice of university, with approximately 50%  of leavers gaining places at prestigious Russell Group universities in the UK.

This is a very well‑equipped school. Dollar has a single, 70 acre campus with extensive indoor and outdoor sports facilities, which include acres upon acres of sports fields, pitches and courts, a well‑equipped fitness suite, a full‑length swimming pool, and a rifle range.

Boys and girls aged 5-18 yearsDollar is one of the UK’s leading rugby‑playing schools and pupils are encouraged to participate in the game at every level. Dollar has a reputation for nurturing talent, and over the years has produced many internationalists. The last two seasons they have reached the final of the Scottish Cup tournament. The coaching is led by former international player and national U18 coach, Mr Don Caskie.

The other core sports at Dollar are hockey, cricket and tennis, all of which are equally well resourced and offer coaching, competition and progression at every level. Many other sports are offered, which gives options for all pupils.

The main school building at Dollar is a striking neo‑classical design by the eminent Scottish architect William Henry Playfair, and the numerous other buildings on campus are a mixture of period and modern design, including specialised teaching areas for languages, science, music and art, large performance venues and first‑class accommodation for boarders.

This school welcomes applications into any year group. A warm invitation to visit is extended to all prospective pupils and their families.

Dollar is exhibiting at the UK Boarding School Exhibition Dubai in the Grosvenor House Hotel on the 28 and 29 October 2016.  Come and meet us to discuss your child.
