CCF Cadets Awarded Places on Canadian Exchange Programme

Dollar Academy has just learned that no less than three Dollar Academy CCF cadets have been chosen for the Canadian Exchange Programme 2017 following a rigorous UK-wide selection process.

The Canadian Exchange Programme 2017

Cdt Cpl Euan Bremner (Form IV) has successfully gained a place on the Argonaut camp and Cdt LCpl Runa Jarjour (also Form IV) has gained a place on the Whitehorse camp, while Cdt Sgt Georgia Robertson (Form V) has earned a place on the Rocky Mountain camp.

The selection committee wrote to the school of this news, saying ‘This is an outstanding achievement considering the competition for places.’ In fact, there are 80,000 cadets across the UK and only 36 are given places on the Canadian Exchange Programme.  For Dollar Academy to send three cadets is really quite extraordinary.

Capt Mark Scott, Contingent Executive Officer of Dollar’s CCF, commented, ‘This is the first time to my knowledge that one school/Cadet unit has sent three cadets to Canada as a part of this programme. We are very proud indeed of these three fine cadets and know that they will benefit tremendously from the experiences ahead of them.’
