Argyll House

Argyll House is a beautifully refurbished Victorian property and one of two girls boarding houses at Dollar Academy.  Benefiting from its period design, this magnificent building is very spacious and has the feeling of a grand family home.

Located at the school gates, overlooking the lawns and playing fields, Argyll has beautiful views of the Ochil Hills.     This is home to up to 24 girls aged between ten and eighteen, who all benefit from their close proximity to the gymnasium, swimming pool, tennis courts and the school art studios.

The younger girls have great fun sharing a bedroom with one or two others, whilst the older girls are usually offered a private single room - perfect for studying.  There is also a movie and games room, a large common room,  study areas, plenty of shower rooms and baths, and a very well equipped kitchen-diner  for evening snacks.  The boarding house also has a computer suite with high speed internet access and Skype facility for staying in touch with relatives abroad and there is full access to wifi throughout the house.

The girls in Argyll House are cared for by Tricia and Ryan Welsh, who live in a private wing of the house.  Ryan is a History and Modern Studies teacher at Dollar and Tricia, also a qualified teacher, is a part-time Pupil Support teacher and a stay-at-home mum to their own two young daughters and Logan, the family dog.  The Welshes are supported  by a large team of Assistant House Staff and House Tutors.
