The School Musical

The annual Dollar Academy school musical is one of the school’s biggest public events and is open to all pupils in Forms III – VI in the Senior School. This is a full-scale, public production in front of a ticketed audience of several thousand.  Those wishing to take either a principal role or a part in the chorus are invited to auditions which are held in the Music Department towards the end of February.  In addition, a large number of pupils are involved in the technical crew, taking a central role in lighting, sound, costume, stage management, front of house, make-up and props; a number of pupils are also selected to perform in the orchestra/band.

nullPrevious productions have included Cats, Guys and Dolls, We Will Rock You, Grease, Evita, Footloose and The Addams Family.  Performances have been staged at the Alhambra Theatre, Dunfermline, and The MacRobert Centre in Stirling.

This year's production is Les Misérables - Schools Edition. Download the rehearsal schedule.
